The MESSAGE OF RAMADHAN PDF Print E-mail

BE GOOD BEYOND THE FASTING PERIOD: The MESSAGE OF RAMADHAN....
Khutbatu Al-jumma delivered in Golden Mosque, Quiapo Manila 27 Aug. 2010
Amrollah D. Diambangan

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, All praises and thanks be to "ALLAH" Almighty for this great chance in life that we are in this blessed month. I am privileged to remind each and every one of us of this sacred month in which the Holy Qur'an was revealed as a whole to the Lawhil Mahfud. According to Ibn Abbas,  the Qur'an was revealed in Ramadhan as one whole complete book of "ALLAH" TO MANKIND, in its preserved form in the house tablet of Baiti'l izza, located between the heavens and earth. The Qur'an  was gradually revealed to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w within 23 years of Prophethood in order to strengthen the faith of the people across space, time and different occasions.

Your Destiny is Yours to Make PDF Print E-mail

By Amrollah Dimal Diambangan

I believe in destiny. Everyone has his own destined time and decree planned by God Almighty for him.  No one knows the future of others except God who is the Creator and the only one who has knowledge of the unseen and has the power over all things.  Sometimes a person strives hard to reach his/her goals but unfortunately often meets failure. The Holy Qur'an said: “And in which you love a thing which is bad for you, and which you dislike thing which is good for you. ” Oh yes! We are just like a river flowing in the direction where it falls whether we like it or not. According to the Hadith Qudsi of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. before the Almighty’s creation of the Universe in 50 thousand years, the first creation HE made was the  pen,  HE ordained the pen to write all the pre-ordainment of all HIS creations, and the pen wrote everything according to the will and knowledge of God and HIS plans for  His creations.  This is what we call Qadr,  an Arabic term meaning  decreed by "Allah"  according to His knowledge and will upon his servants.

By Violeta M. Gloria/MindaNews     (22 April 2009)

ILIGAN CITY (MindaNews/21 April) -- Mylene Amerol-Macumbal, whose average in the recent bar exams was just .05 point shy of that of the first placer, attributes a big part of her success to her husband, Judge Arassad Macumbal.

Mylene’s parents are from Ditsaan Ramain and Pualas of Lanao del Sur but she grew up in Iligan city.

Her husband was the 9th placer in the civil engineering national licensure examination in 1993. Their 5-year-old son Rocky has the looks of his father.

In her blog, Mylene said she’s been excelling academically and that “academic excellence became a sort of habit, an identity which sets me apart from the rest.”

Mylene talks about her latest accomplishment in an interview with MindaNews’ Violeta M. Gloria.

The interview took place at their residence evening of April 20, the  night before the College of Law-extension of the Mindanao State University commended her, with a motorcade around Iligan City and a program at the city plaza.

The Journey PDF Print E-mail

By Huma Ahmad

Imagine yourself at the moment of your death.

What thoughts cross your mind? Memories of family and friends? Panic?  Regrets? Remembrance of Allah? What is death? What happens to us after we die? What is life in the Hereafter like, this new and strange world after death? Do we lose consciousness of this life? Where does our soul go? Do we feel and think the same?

The ineffable feeling of crossing the boundary between this world and the next cannot be described in words, nor imagined in the mind, but can be understood only through divine revealation and inspiration. Let us for the next few moments seek an understanding of this, death, the only certainty in life.
